General Information

Dysport is prescription only medicine which contains the active substance Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex indicated for severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics. For use in adults only.

Indications for Dysport Injections

Contraindications of Dysport:

Dysport should NOT be used under one of the following circumstances:

If a patient has an allergic reaction to any component of the product, such as botulinum toxin or human albumin (including hypersensitivity reactions to cow’s milk protein);

If a patient suffers from a serious health issue (for instance, myasthenia gravis, concomitant disease, or other neuromuscular disorders);

If a patient is currently undergoing any other drug therapy incompatible with the injection of Dysport;

If a patient experiences skin infection around the intended area of the treatment;

And so on.

As well, the injection of the product is contraindicated for pregnant women.

Side Effects

Patients treated with Dysport (300 Units) do not usually experience any serious complications. Still, some of them claim to observe one of the following side effects after the administration of the product:

Temporary injection site pain;

Skin irritation around the treatment area (including redness, itching, or swelling);

Blurred vision;

Dry mouth;

Excessive weakness;

Headache;

Eyelid drooping;

And so on.

Despite the fact that these suspected adverse reactions tend to quickly disappear on their own without any medical attention, patients are recommended to contact their healthcare professionals in case of having any of them.
