General Information
SURGIDERM® 24XP is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler manufactured by Allergan in France. It is a sterile, non-animal-origin injectable gel developed to correct moderate facial wrinkles and skin depressions while helping to define and enhance the lips.
The formulation contains 24 mg/ml of cross-linked hyaluronic acid in a physiological phosphate buffer solution with a pH of 7.2. Its gel structure is designed to provide smooth integration into the skin and support natural-looking correction of moderate facial lines and folds.
SURGIDERM® 24XP is intended for injection into the mid-dermis by appropriately trained medical professionals. It is also indicated for lip definition and contouring.

According to the manufacturer’s instructions, it should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or relevant bacterial proteins, people prone to hypertrophic scarring, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children. It should not be injected into areas with active skin inflammation or infection.
The manufacturer specifically advises against injection into the eyelids. Treatment of the under-eye area is reserved for specialists with specific training in this technique. Intravascular injection must be avoided because it can cause serious complications.
Potential Side Effects
Possible temporary side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, itching, discomfort and small nodules or hardened areas at the injection site. These reactions may occur immediately or be delayed.
Less common complications include inflammatory reactions, discolouration and hypersensitivity. Rare but serious complications include vascular occlusion, skin necrosis, visual impairment and, in severe cases, stroke. Immediate medical assessment is essential if warning signs such as unusual pain, skin blanching or visual changes occur.
